Levi Eells, the musician behind Minnesota based project Hedron just released one of the most thought provoking and menacing albums of the year, simply titled “Aforementioned”.

The simplistic beat of “The Staircase Falls” is quickly surrounded by a sea of surging synths and futuristic noise.  It’s cinematic feel and other worldly tone come off like a mix of Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter.

The title track is slower and more spaced out. Things start to build and build into a compelling synth fueled grove that’s enigmatic and irresistible while “At War with the sun” is an ambient mix of lulling soundscapes backed by flourishing blasts of psychedelic nuances.

“Plug In” relinquishes a heavy dose of industrial bliss full of looping rhythmic noise and thunderous beats. There’s also a trip-hop aspect to it all that makes it even more appealing. The next track “The Heart Of Sheoi”  settles things down a bit with it’s ambient cavernous lull only for things to heat back up almost right away with the hip-hop meets jazz, meets noise rock mash up “Can’t Give”.

Everything comes to a climactic end during the 8 plus minute “Look Towards The Cove” which I can only describe as apocalyptic noise. It’s desolate, reverb drench, droning presence creates the perfect ending to an astonishingly perfect record. Take it all in here.
