Valdosta, Georgia based post punk/dream pop trio Heaven Slept just released their debut two song E.P. and I must say it’s pretty spectacular.
“Ether” starts things off with Weston Rogers dark and gloomy bass line and Anna Taylor’s chiming guitars which creates a sound that echoes the spirits of classic Cure songs with a heavy dose of Bauhaus thrown in for good measure. It’s matter of fact vocal stance adds to the menace and drive while drummer Alan Sifuentes keeps a thunderous yet danceable beat that really puts everything over the top in fine fashion.
The distorted melody of “Her/She Kisses” is equally infectious with it’s JAMC meets The Pastels filled vibes. It’s the type of track that compels you to sing along right from the start. The “Hook” filled bassline carries the piece alongside Taylor’s incredible vocals to create a premium blend of catchiness, atmosphere and noise.
I can’t wait to hear what these fabulous upstarts release next. Please stay tuned.
