2023 Was full of amazing music. Here are 10 of my favorite songs of the year (in no particular order). Much appreciation to all the artists for making these.

Panda Bear And Sonic Boom “Go On”

Such an amazing collaboration form two of my favorite artists. Cosmic psychedelia at it’s finest with an incredible video to match.

Jesus And Mary Chain “jamcod”

This is the first single from the new JAMC album “Glasgow Eyes’ Due out in March and it rips on all levels. Awesome to hear these legends still making amazing music and melting faces.

Palehound “The Clutch”

What an infectious song. The day this came out I must have played it 20 times and it’s still in regular rotation for me. The solo is epic and the overall spirit is so inspiring.

Pussy Gillette “So Fucked”

Such a bad ass song. Everything about it feels really cool. Awesome riff and vocal cadence and a really fun video too.

Tim Kinsella & Jenny Pulse “Sun Inspector”

Since their debut album as Good Fuck I’ve been a fan of this duo. Take from their album “Giddy Skelter” which you can get here

With Patience “Strawberry”

New band based in Chicago featuring Hose. Got. Cable. alumni Chris Wade. Beautiful intricate rock n roll full of grit and melody. Grab this track along with another brilliant song called “Fitted Sheet” here

Cory Hanson “Western Cum”

I’ve certainly worn this track out since it came out back in the fall. Tons of energy and blistering guitars. Cory’s songwriting and musical execution are always really enjoyable to me.

Obscure Son “Modern Lovers”

I feel like Norfolk based musician Elliott Malvas really took his project Obscure Son to the next level with this track. It’s a total banger that’ll get you humming along to it right away.

Merzbow “CATalysis” No. 1

The God of noise is still at it making the best experimental, mayhem ever. This track is a major ripper on all levels.

Meatbodies “Hole”

Another Fuzzed out masterpiece from Meatbodies. Great guitar tones and hypnotic rhythms that draw you in and leave you wanting more. This is from their upcoming album “Flora Ocean, Tiger Bloom” coming out in March.
