Scrimmage is a Brooklyn-based duo fronted by Connor Lewis and Carr Bonner. The band’s sound emerges from corners of Indie, Art-Rock, Jazz, and Psychedelia. Their songs come together like a collage, sifting through old voice notes and Ableton files, breathing life into half-formed melodies and piecemeal recordings filled with the ambient hum of vacuum cleaners and the chatter of friends.

Today the duo drop a brand new single titled “Lilac” which delves into themes of growth, change, and acceptance. This evocative song captures the emotional complexity of transitioning through life’s stages, the weight of leaving the past behind, and the hopeful anticipation of new beginnings. The self-contradicting lyrics juxtapose with this up tempo track to create a feeling of conflict, ultimately resolved by a blooming synth melody.
