Suburban Key Party return with two new singles for summer that showcase their infectious “Modern Rock” sound.

“Poor You” features guitarist David Hunter’s highly textured tones as the tracks lush chords echo the spirits of bands like The Church and The Cure and flow together perfectly with vocalist Tom Southern’s  melodic vocal delivery.

There’s a rich, dark feel that surrounds everything and adds a nice edge to the songs overall pop feel.

Meanwhile “Beautiful” is an uplifting blast of rock n roll energy that’s sure to get you singing along with Southern right away. Bassist Pat Myers and drummer Mark Watts lay down a driving groove as Hunter shines again with sections of blistering lead guitar work.

It’s a tremendously catchy song that showcases the band in peak form from beginning to end.

Speaking on the new tracks Southern said

“Both songs started with an acoustic guitar and a notebook.  I wrote the songs acoustically then went to Whiskey Bear Studio/Chris Kendrick to lay down scratch acoustic and vocals with a click.  I have an idea of the feel for a song when I write it.  So Chris, who can play every thing, laid down some tracks to create demos.  I then presented them to Mark, David and Pat.  We then all worked together to come up with the finished products, each of them contributing their skill at their respective instruments, parts and structure ideas.”
