The Death Of Us are an explosive rock band based in Glasgow led by musician C.J. Millar.  Their latest E.P. “Am I Even Here?” features three high energy tracks that sound best played at high volume.

“Too Afraid” opens with a clanging bash of percussion that quickly gives way to a massive riff and driving beat before it sets into more melodic and  dreamy territory. It’s got tons of power to go alongside its incredibly catchy hooks and passionate vocal stance.

The title track locks into a cosmic rhythm that’s got a swagger to it that falls somewhere between Catherine Wheel and Curve with it’s doomy bassline and distorted guitar riffs. The vocals combine just the right amounts of melody and angst and the blistering guitar solo makes me love it that much more.

The record closes out with the thunderous sounds of “Don’t You Forget It” which has some almost industrial aspect to it especially when it comes to the bass and drums and it all blends perfectly with the wavering synths and ripping guitar leads.

If there’s anything this record has it’s hooks, dynamics and power. It’s also got excellent production and some of the best musicianship you’ll hear anywhere. In addition to this E.P. the band have released a singles/comp tracks compilation album that I also heavily recommend.
