Based in southern Florida, Listener 555 create an array of lush soundscapes with fuzzed out guitars, moody melodies and blissful noise throughout their new eight song album “Stoner Metal”.

Things begin with the four minute long experimental guitar opus “rain”  before eventually giving way to the hypnotic sounds of “Fight” which is full of jangling chords and impactful dynamics.

“Sacrilege” is a bit more dreamy and makes good use of layers of swelling guitars that run together perfectly while “Concentrate (Concrete)” has a slight “Post hardcore” feel to it with it’s big riffs and constant leads.

Other stand out moments include the radiant sounds of “Lotus Blue”, the experimental tones that move through “Blood” and the dark production of “Bulletproof”.

Listener 555 is the brainchild of Camilo Alvarez-Tovar who’s been releasing music under this name for the last few years and “Stoner Metal” shows a cool progression in the projects sound and overall presentation. Highly recommended for fans of colorful, guitar driven shoegaze rock n roll.
