After releases several singles in recent years Los Angels musician Vega Delanova is back with an excellent five song E.P. titled “Limerence”
Opening track “Say Our Goodbye” features guest vocals by Baby Ghost who Delanova has collaborated with before and the track is an absolute banger. It’s big riff and shifting sonic textures glide along next to blasts of swelling synths while Baby Ghost and Delanova’s voices mesh together perfectly.
“Limerance” is a soothing atmospheric acoustic track that’s heartfelt lyrics and overall esthetic make it feel like your right in the room with them while it’s being sung while the intricately played “Make Believe” is also a tremendous track that brings to mind the classic Matt Pond PA albums I’ve blasted over the years.
Things return to a more rock direction on the melodic “On The Inside” which includes a powerful guitar hook and more of Delanova’s inviting vocals. This track works great next to the galloping beat of “Magnetic Memory” which features the addition of a vocoder that adds a nice touch to the strong riffs and array of radiant guitar tones.
Overall Limerence” is a very enjoyable E.P. by an amazing songwriter who’s not afraid to show various sides of their style and abilities.
