Made up of Brian Jordan on guitar, vocals and keyboards and Colan Miles on bass and keyboards , Sun Shines Cold come from the Scottish Borders south of Edinburgh.

Their latest single “A Feeling Unknown” is a slow droning piece that blends elements of “Pornography” era Cure with the influence of classic shoegaze bands like Slowdive and Ride.

The songs frigid drum beat and lulling vocals are joined by layers of ethereal guitars and a lush bass line to create what I can only call a “post punk masterpiece”.

The accompanying remix  features a wash of fluttering synths and thunderous electronic beats that fans of vintage Depeche Mode remixes will be happy to hear. The reverb drenched vocals and rich atmospherics are truly beautiful and add an even more intriguing angle to the song.

Sun Shines Cold have been quite prolific over the last five years releasing multiple singles, eps and a full length album titled “echoes of a former life”. Check out their full discography here and stay tuned for a new full length album later this year.
