Milwaukee based experimental project Peachvzz impress on their fourteen track debut album “Less Than”.
Led by a relentless fuzzed out bass tone, various synths, noises and at times blasts of frantic drumming this album packs some serious heat.
The sea of hypnotic noise and driving rhythm of “The Shape Of Your Mind” create a fascinating combination that draws you in and takes you on a psychedelic journey that’s not only inspiring but at times down right frightening and I absolutely love every second of it.
“I Can’t Escape It Even In My Dreams” offers up a heavy drum and bass feel with random voices jumping in at you at various times as well as frequent outbursts of harsh noise while “Erised” sounds like something you’d hear in an abandoned factory in the middle of the night if old broken machinery was trying to resurrect itself and work once again.
Other favorites include the mind bending sounds of “Far Far Away; Where I Belong”, the incredibly powerful force of “visceral” and the relentlessness of “btk”.
“Less Than” is a very visual and cinematic album that captures a ton of raw emotion and attitude. It’s a truly brilliant work of art from beginning to end and I can’t wait to hear what they release next.
