I Love My Futon is the project of French musician Ludovic Thomère.
Since his 2017 single “Beluga”, Thomère has steadily released a string of brilliant singles and E.P.’s that channel aspects of shoegaze, electronica and psychedelia.
The projects latest release contains the tracks “At This Time Part 1” and “At This Time Part II” and both are nothing short of stellar.
“At This Time Part 1” channels a dark yet colorful vibe as layers of ethereal guitars and a droning bass line are accompanied by a minimal but perfect drum machine pattern.
Thomère’s vocals are also truly inspiring as they create a cinematic stance that draws you into his world of captivating hypnotic rock that is surely making the ghost of Syd Barrett happy and proud.
All of this is expanded more on the instrumental “All This Time Part II” as it takes the basic theme of part 1 and adds extended guitar melodies and dynamics and gives you another perspective of the song.
This has quickly become one of my favorite releases of 2025 and I highly recommend you check it out along with the rest of Thomère’s impressive discography.
