Hailed for their lush textures and evocative songwriting, Van Chamberlain crafts dreamy, ornate indie rock that floats between nostalgia and discovery. They return with “Solutions,” the second single off their new LP As Far As the Eye Can See, and are poised to build on their momentum with a campaign of singles, videos, and touring.
“Control, Alt & Delete up til now”- “Solutions” is for anyone who’s ever needed a reset — and lately, feels like that’s most of us. I wrote it during a long drive back to Brooklyn, looking for some kind of fresh start. In the studio, we wanted it to feel like forward motion — easy, unforced, and full of air. It’s one of our most effortless songs yet and it’s made to be played loud, maybe on a long drive towards better days ahead.”
“For the video, we felt like the washed-out VHS camcorder and a playful slice of life montage would fit perfectly with the nostalgic elements of the song’s instrumentation. Programmed drums and swelling chorus pedals just go so well with natural saturation shifts and imperfect tape fuzz.”
With lush guitars, layered harmonies, and a melodic sensibility that feels both fresh and timeless, the band invites listeners into richly textured sonic worlds that recall the shimmer of early 2000s indie while carving out something unmistakably their own. Celebrated as Brooklyn’s bastions of “melancholy-drenched beauty,” Van Chamberlain is now gearing up to release their next chapter—a new batch of songs that boasts an expanded scope and sharpened songwriting, while staying true to their signature atmosphere.
