Franklin (sometimes written as “!franklin”) was a cornerstone of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s 1990s DIY punk scene. From their formation in 1992 to their breakup in 2000, they carved out a sound entirely their own. Neither fully emo nor strictly punk, their music pulled from a wide spectrum of influences—echoing the genre-blurring spirit of The Clash—to create something truly distinctive.

!franklin sits somewhere between bands like Jawbox, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Seaweed—with that late-90s emo/indie crossover feel. There’s also a touch of Fugazi in their DNA, especially in the rhythmic drive and guitar interplay. They toured with bands like Fracture, The Jazz June, Heroin, U.O.A., The Crownhate Ruin, The Van Pelt and Unwound.

Go Kid Go [Remastered & Expanded] has been remastered from the original tapes by Dan Coutant. This deluxe 2xLP collection brings together the band’s complete recorded output from 1993–1996. It includes the long out-of-print Go Kid Go album, along with the Something Blue Automotive, They Said It With Fireworks, and Roy Is Dead 7″s—plus rare compilation tracks and two previously unreleased studio recordings. To complete the collection, a bonus 7″ features two tracks from !franklin’s earliest demos.

Go Kid Go [Remastered & Expanded] releases on 7/17/26 through Solid Brass Records and will be available to stream everywhere. Sonny Kay designed the vinyl packaging, which features a reverse-board-printed gatefold jacket with inner-pocket printing, printed inner sleeves, and transparent cobalt-blue vinyl.
