NORMANS is a Southern California–based electronic music project formed in 2021 by visual artist Matthew Reid (Blonde Summer), Michael Perry Rudes (FEELS), and Kyle Souza (Prissy Whip). The group operates within a tense, controlled framework built on repetition, low-end pressure, and disciplined electronic structures, producing music that is physically immediate and deliberately uncompromising.
Early coverage framed the project as striking and visceral. Scene Point Blank described NORMANS as “synth-laced noise punk reminiscent of 1979, 1994, 2011 and 2024,” while Buzzbands.la noted the band “does not play nice… dark, menacing, ear-splitting and chaotic.” These early releases established a confrontational foundation rooted in urgency and restraint.
With the release of their sophomore album, Faust Demonica, NORMANS present their most refined work to date. The record emphasizes clarity, precision, and atmosphere, pairing polished electronic production with a darker melodic discipline while maintaining the project’s core intensity. Supported by stark visual presentation, NORMANS explore control, latent fear, and psychological pressure, favoring structure and tension over conventional release.
Faust Demonica will be available digitally as well as a limited edition first pressing on black vinyl from Solid Brass Records on 6/5/26.
