Oakland, California’s Lost Objects return with two new tracks featuring their brand of uplifting and powerful indie rock.

“Waves” starts out with an intricate guitar riff that’s eventually followed by Lauren Shank’s inviting vocal delivery.   Things stir and build as Brian Brophy’s vocals enter the frame and then suddenly everything breaks loose into a more aggressive volume. All of the instruments mesh together perfectly to create a really powerful dynamic that brings to mind aspects of classic bands like Braid and The Van Pelt.

Meanwhile “What It Takes” harnesses a galloping beat with crisp guitars at first but much like “Waves” the track makes it’s way into a more abrasive area before coming back down to it’s original mood.  The back and forth between quiet and loud really puts everything over the top and honestly can’t get enough of it.

Overall this is a great pair of songs  from one of the Bay Areas brightest new bands.
