George based indie rock unit Quiet Lux hit a home run on their self titled debut E.P.

Everything gets going right off the bat with the incredibly powerful “Laughing Gas” which is full of explosive guitar riffs and catchy hooks. The production has a charming lo-fi feel to it that’s really captivating and honest and creates some of the most real deal rock n roll sounds I’ve heard from a new band in a good while.

Next up is the more melodic and quicker “Rotary Phone” which is another infectious track that I just can’t get enough of. It’s packed full of relentless energy and the distorted vocals add another really cool layer to it all.

“What I Wanted” is possibly the most “experimental” track of the four as there’s all kinds of cool, weird stuff going on including a wild flanging effect towards the end of the song.

Meanwhile “The Wrong Kind” is another solid rocker that brings to mind the spirit of classic lo-fi bands like Guided By Voices and Sebadoh.

This is a truly inspiring and exciting debut that I’ve played in full at least 5 times a day since my first listen. Can’t wait for a full length album.
