Hoboken New Jersey based rock ensemble Dale impress on their debut four song E.P.

“Open My Eyes” starts things off with a delay driven guitar riff and a soothing vocal delivery that quickly moves into more aggressive territory as everything erupts into a sea of noisy guitars and pounding drums. It serves as a great opener and sets the tone for what’s to come.

The band pick up the pace on “Bad People” with it’s melodic guitars and driving beat. It’s a tremendous track that makes me imagine what it be like if Paul Westerberg wrote a song with Hum.

Everything instantly drops right into the moody sounds of “Slippin” which is a true banger full of raw emotion. It’s certainly the most cathartic piece on the E.P. as it culminates in a blast of relentless energy before winding back down.

Meanwhile closing number “B.H.G.” sends everything off in grand fashion with it’s wha-wha fueled guitar leads and powerful dynamics.

One thing Dale possess is the ability to create a ton of energy in their songs. Be it fast and ferocious or moody and mellow there’s always something radiant going on throughout this record. The songwriting is top notch and they always seem to know where to put the perfect nuances and small things into the mix that take the songs to the next level.

This is an incredible debut and I can’t wait to hear what they make next.
