Time. Space. Repeat. is the one man recording project of Southampton, UK. musician Angus Reid. The general vibe is one of blissed-out post rock and shoegaze with an optimistic leaning with layer upon layer of guitars, washed with synth pads and the occasional bell, zither, piano and assorted other instruments.
Reid’s latest release is a brilliant six song E.P. titled “Colliderscope” and it’s truly some of his best work to date.
Everything kicks off with the title track which is full of lulling drones and vibrant synths that create rays of colorful sounds. Eventually a pumping bassline enters the mix followed by a galloping beat that builds up to a thunderous blast of blissful noise before settling back into the pocket. It’s a highly cinematic track that gets everything going in fine form.
“Yellow Paint Everywhere” is driven by a post punk style bass guitar and elegant guitar chords that create shimmering tones and an other worldly like scene while “I Gave You One More Chance” incorporates an infectious organ that showcases a different dynamic of Reid’s sound.
Other highlights include the stoic piano and strings featured on “Saudade”, the hypnotic stance of “Plot Armour” and the rich acoustic based closer “Farewell To Mimi”.
Overall “Colliderscope” is a beautiful record that takes the listener on an amazing journey through multiple moods and dynamics. One of my favorites of 2025 so far.
